Googlepedia for Chrome is now available!
Download Googlepedia for Chrome
Googlepedia is a Firefox Extension which shows you a relevant Wikipedia articles with your search results. Clicking links in the Wikipedia articles will trigger new Google searches, making it a very useful research tool.
Googlepedia has been downloaded over 500,000 times, making it one of the most widespread Firefox extensions in the world.
Known Issues
There are currently problems with Google Instant Search that will require a rewrite of this addon. Thank you for your patience while we fix these problems.

This is my favorite extension, but using it in Chrome negatively affects Google Reader. ver.0.7.
Guys, I love your extension. I found myself using Safari more and more, and the only extension I miss from firefox is your Googlepedia. Is there any chance you’ll write an extension for Safari now that it supports them?
There is a version for Safari that will be out soon(ish). We’re pretty busy at the moment but whenever we have some free time we do our best to further the development of Googlepedia and a couple of other open-source/free bits and pieces that we work on.
Rreally nice extension. Would love it if it worked on the SSL encrypted search results on encrypted.google.com as well though!
Dan wrote what I would have written if I was here before him.
Please, hurry up with Safari version.
Thank you!
Installed into Chrome ver. 5.0.375.127 in Linux, but does not work. It does not show in Google results page. I have used this extension in Firefox for years and loved it. Any ideas?
Does not work on Windows XP Chrome ver. 5.0.375.125 either. Disappointing.
This stopped working once Google Instant came out. Can you please fix this? This is the most useful extension
Really useful, but takes half a minute to be able to navigate through my search results.
doesnt seem to be working for me anymore! i wish you guys could fix it. easily my favorite addon. for some reason when i click on links in the wikipedia article they dont load- instead it just clears everything. and i just tried reinstalling it to see if it would fix it and now of course “no relevant article can be found” for anything. :(
This plugin does not work very well with the latest update on Google (Instant, and possibly also the preview). The search results from Google is moved down to after the end of the wikipedia page, often pushing it offscreen (in fact, it took a while for me to realize I got any search results at all…).
This can be “fixed” by pressing the Search button at the search bar on the Google web page (as opposed to using the search bar in Firefox), but the “fix” consists of the wikipedia page to disappear completely, which actually is a bug in it’s own right.
I’d be extremely happy if you guys could fix this. This is one of my most invaluable plugins, which completely changed the way I search the internet (just needing to do a single search instead of two, almost always).
Yes – first noticed this on Nov 13 … please fix!
Magicus said it well. I’m having the same problems and after I’ve gotten used to Googlepedia I can’t imagine life without it. You’ve made by far the most useful add-on out there. Thank you for that!
This is happening at least with Mac OS X…
Same here guys, I love this extension but have disabled it now because it interferes with regular google searches too much. If I can’t see the search results and the wiki page at the same time, it’s no better than just spawning two tabs.
Thanks for this great addon. But it would be even greater if it worked with Google SSL too…
There’s an issue with google reader, as mentioned by Mike. It causes google reader to add in unwanted “lines” items between subcription list. It will be the best if this extension allow us to set the WIDTH of the wiki panel and to set the zoom level.
